Enterprise resource planning
The use of ERP softwares today seems to growing to all companies and organizations. These softwares used to integrating many aspects of enterprise solutions by its design and technology. They are completed and standardized by time as they have a long history in the comuting field.
In the few recent years in Iran, they are listening everywhere and proudly we have many Iranian companies alongside other international ones that are competing with each other.
By the way there is many open source ERP softwares that are actively developing with many different viewpoints and goals.
Currently at Sethack we are working at a project to localize a great piece of ERP software named OpenERP and these works published in Iran soon.
OpenERP
This software is one of the best amongs its competitors both by design and support of community. Also we found that this software is best to spreading in Iran because of its history and used technologies. OpenERP is realy clean and simple to implement and using the most of technologies we are using in Sethack: Python.

The OpenERP-Iran project
Sethack by considering the abilities of OpenERP, started a project to localize this software and develop current and new modules for it. This may be interesting to note that we simoultaneously both developing it and used it. This caused to we can feel what our client will feel and it certainly can enhance the usage and reduce the bugs in final product.
Here is a list of work we done to localize this software:
- Allowing use of Jalali calendar beside gregorian calendar.
- Full support for Farsi language and numbering system
- Contributing the most translated language among the other languages
- Spending time more that 18 months on the project
- Using local trade law in project
- Adding standard accounting tables
- Making documentation for users
